sugar and crumbs / natural flavoured icing sugar and nifty nozzle review

I have received some really innovative products from this company to try out.

Natural flavoured icing sugar strawberry milkshake flavour

The first thing to comment on is the lovely aroma when you open the packaging, it really does smell like strawberry milkshake.

The original colour is white which means you're able to add any colouring you choose and so we chose red to make a nice bright pink colour.

Very simple to use, just add butter and a bit of milk for the right consistency.

You can also add plain icing sugar as well to get a hint of flavour but I used the full amount which gives a tasty flavour which both my children and myself really enjoyed and because the flavourings are natural I was happier with my children eating it.

I was also impressed that this product is gluten, nut, dairy and lactose free and suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Usually these types of products are very expensive but I thought this was quite reasonably price especially for the amount you get.

Nifty nozzle petal rose

I also received a nifty nozzle which is such a clever design and enables you to make individual rose flowers.

I am not very creative myself so this nozzle was great for me as its so simple to use and yet the end result looks like they have taken ages to do.

I really enjoyed making these with my five year old daughter, we had a lot of fun.

salt of the earth pure aura crystal spring / review / natural deodorant /

I was interested to try this new natural deodorant sent to me by crystal spring.

Free from:
Aluminium chlorohydrate
Alcohol
CFC's
Parabens
Triclosan

This is the first time I have tried a natural deodorant and I was a little worried that it wouldn't last as long as its chemical counterparts but I was very much mistaken, the scent lasted a long time and also dried really quickly which impressed me.

Its made with organic aloe Vera and so it is great if you have sensitive skin under your arms, which I do, and some sprays I've tried really sting but this one didn't.

I'm not always keen on lavender scents but with the vanilla it becomes a really lovely light fresh scent

As it is natural I allowed my five year old daughter to try it and she loved it and she also loved the bottle it comes in because its pink!

It is a pump spray (non aerosol) which I much prefer because you get more control when spraying and also it tends to last longer as well.

Please see the website above for similar items in this great range. They even do a foot deodorant!

Aura Print Impakt Colour Core Business Cards / Review

On the blog today I am reviewing the company Aura Print.

Review of 250 impakt colour core business cards from Aura Print

These were actually designed by the company, we just gave them a rough idea of what we wanted. We could also send them any artwork to be included.

They sent us a rough copy through email for us to approve and then they went to print. I thought this was a nice touch as it meant that we were a part of the design process rather than with other business cards where it just gets done on an automated site, this was the personal touch we needed.

I was kept up to date every step of the way and was even able to track my order through DPD.

We have ordered from many printing businesses over the years and I can honestly say this was the most helpful and most professional I have worked with.

My husband has already handed a good number out and people have been very impressed. One person even tried to hand him one back because he thought he had been given two, they're that thick!

A great feature of the site itself is that you earn Aura Points with the purchases and you can spend these points when you buy on the website giving you a discount on the overall cost.

You can follow Aura Print on twitter here:

I highly recommend them as they will enhance the look of your business and give it that professional edge.

the neem team / neem toothpaste / review / natural teeth and gum care

This is the third review of this company I have done on my blog of products containing neem extracts which is such a versatile ingredient.

I actually requested this product specially as I haven't tested any natural toothpastes in the past and so it caught my attention.

Julie at the neem team was very helpful and sent me information regarding the product via email and the product was dispatched soon after my enquiry.

Neem toothpaste

The catchphrase on the box is "if you want your teeth to gleam then brush with neem" and I found this to be true as it had a subtle whitening effect.

It contains peppermint and spearmint oil which gives a refreshing taste and it doesn't have a nasty aftertaste.

I have sensitive teeth and I found that this product was good for that and my gums didn't bleed after use.

This is a very natural product and contains no artificial colours or flavours and is fluoride, paraben, sulfate and gluten free so great for all the family to use.

moor natural selection / review / natural skin care / natural hair care

What the company claims

The secret ingredient in all the Moor Natural Selection™ range is the moor water. The Moor is natural; it is a living substance full of the natural elements made by Mother Nature. The moor water is taken from the top layer of the only therapeutic lowland moors in the world which are found in Europe. ‘It is not an inert substance, it is life itself.' It is from this rich natural resource that we produce our comprehensive range of professional spa products for body and facial treatments for salons and in the home.

Purifying shampoo and radiance conditioner

My hair felt fresh and clean after using these products. Conditioners tend to make my hair greasy but that was not the case with this product.

I have very dry skin on my scalp particularly at the front of my head and I found that the shampoo helped to soften the skin of my scalp which is something that the product claims.

Because there are no added nasties I had no adverse reaction, no itchiness or redness. If a product contains chemicals I tend to know straight away because I get a rash on my neck behind my ears as I have really sensitive skin there.

Stabilising cleanser and stimulating toner

These products were for people with oily skin.

I was impressed with the fact that even though this was a very gentle cleanser it cleansed really deeply and brought up quite a lot of dirt and oil from the pores.

The toner left the skin with a very slight, refreshing tingling feeling.

I also liked the fact that the toner was in a spray bottle.

I had no adverse reaction, no itchiness and no redness to both products.

Mattifying moisturiser

First positive to note is the protective seal under the lid. I always look for this addition with this kind of product.

This has a nice light citrus scent to it.

Goes on easily and is quickly absorbed into the skin.

I had no adverse reaction, no itchiness and no redness.

Refining facial mask

Again like the moisturizer this product has the protective seal under the lid.

With the first few times you just leave it on for 1-2 minutes then after a few uses you can leave it on for up to 5 minutes.

As the mask goes on it gives a pleasant cooling sensation which is really refreshing.

This mask left my skin feeling lovely and smooth.

Face masks tend to dry out my skin but this one doesn't because you take it off before it dries up.

Another positive is that it is very simple and easy to wash off.

I had no adverse reaction, no itchiness and no redness to the product.

Please see the website above for more products in this fantastic range.

rawlicious food company / review / natural raw food / gluten wheat free

This company have sent me this generous collection of their products for me to trial.

Kale Chips

I was really impressed with these, I thought they were very flavourful and they feel like you are having a treat because they have a crunchy texture to them.

While I was pregnant I had an iron deficiency and I was told to eat lots of leafy vegetables which unfortunately I'm not a fan of so these came at the perfect time for me.

And an interesting fact that I didn't know, that is on their website, is that cooking destroys nutrition & enzymes and chemically changes foods from the substances needed for health into acid-forming toxins, free-radicals and poisons so another plus for eating raw when possible.

There are some great flavours in the range such as cheesy and also Thai chilli.

Raw crackers

These are perfect if you need something to replace bread as a dietary requirement for example if you need something gluten free.

You can eat them on their own or they can be eaten with a spread which is what I enjoyed doing.

I thought the flavours of these were very original such as tomato pizza which made an interesting change from the norm.

Date and cashew snackaroons

Now these I cannot rave about enough. These were a massive hit with my five year old, she thought they were wonderful and I have to say I agreed with her.

The date and cashew flavours go really well together and they are great for if you are looking for something to quash a sweet tooth craving without having biscuits or chocolate.

I also like the fact the ingredients are organic and even their packaging is recyclable.

b skincare / review / natural / face scrub / lip rescue

I received these two full sized samples to review from this company

What the company claims

"The creams are handmade each week, so you will not get something that has been sitting on a shelf for ages. Handmade means a real person measures, pours, lids and labels the creams."

Review

Face Scrub

Contains crushed walnut shells, citrus and evening primose.

I was very impressed at the fact that the scrub part of this product was natural walnut shells instead of the microbeads that are used sometimes, which are very harmful to the environment.

My skin is very sensitive on my face and so it tends to react to products like these and gets red and tingly very quickly but this product did not have any adverse effects for me and it left my skin feeling really refreshed.

The smell of evening primrose can sometimes be overpowering but in this case the citrus works really well with it to combat that.

Lip Rescue

The packaging of this product says first aid for sore lips and this is definitely true in this case.

It does not contain any chemicals so the scent is very light and natural.

It isn't sticky when it goes on so you aren't licking it off your lips for ages, it absorbs really well.

Please see the website above for other products in this range which even includes muscle and joint creams and arnica salve for bruises.

malki dead sea soap and bath salts / review / natural skin care / eczema acne

I received these 3 products from this company

Product claims

The sulphurous waters of the Dead Sea possess extraordinary qualities and rich health giving minerals; sulphur, iodine, magnesium, potassium, calcium, sodium that heal skin ailments like eczema and acne.

Review

Natural sulphur soap

The first soap was a natural sulphur soap and I was hoping that it did what it says as I have eczema on my hands so I have to be careful what I use but I was not disappointed.

The soap has a light, natural smell and is unperfumed which is great for me because it is the perfumes that aggravate my eczema.

I had no adverse reaction itchiness or redness.

Natural black mud mask soap

The second soap was called natural black mud mask soap and it was described as an old family recipe using olive, palm, coconut and vegetable oils.

I was looking forward to trying this because even though I don't have acne I do have very oily skin on my face and this soap really helped to regulate that without drying it out completely.

Again as with the first soap I had no adverse reaction itchiness or redness.

Aromatherapy bath salts with frankincense oil and rose petals.

And lastly I received aromatherapy bath salts with frankincense oil and rose petals.

These dissolved nicely in the bath to give a lovely calming aroma.

I tend not to use bath salts as I tend to find they are overperfumed which irritates my skin but this is not the case with this product.

I felt that the rose petals were a nice little added touch for a natural fragrance.

As with the soaps I had no adverse reaction itchiness or redness.

valley mill soaps / review / natural skin care

I was very pleased to receive a selection of soaps to review from this company

  What the company claims

Using only the finest natural oils to produce their range of luxury soap

No artificial colours, preservatives or additives. Paraben free. SLS free. No animal products. Very gentle.

Review

The first thing straight away that I love about these bars is that they are 100% natural.

My favourite bar was the orange and cinnamon and to give an example of how natural these bars really are the ingredients are limited to:
Olive, palm, castor and coconut oil, shea butter, orange, cinnamon and paprika.

The orange and cinnamon scents go really well together and the soaps are not perfumed and so do not aggravate my eczema.

Another point that impressed me is that to get the beautiful colours that they produce they use natural herbs.

I had no adverse reaction, itchiness or redness.

Please see the website above for more information and also on the website you can personalise your product and create great gifts for weddings etc.

Tuesday 2 February 2016

I received two full sized samples of the soaps from a large range that this company offers

The products claims

Luxury, handmade artisan soap, traditionally crafted from natural plant oils and butters using the cold-process method. Rich in naturally occurring glycerine.

Review

First thoughts are the packaging of the products I received was beautiful and these would make ideal gifts. The soaps were also well protected in sheeting which I was impressed with.

The soaps are pretty to look at but are also very practical to use and last for ages.

I received strawberry crème and midnight mint and both had a very pleasant scent to them.

They were the perfect size to put on the basin to use for hand washing and they lathered up nicely each wash.

With regards to any negative reaction on my skin such as redness or itching, I had none whatsoever. I have to be very careful what I use to wash my hands because of eczema.

Please see the website above for more products in the range.

creams&things moisturising cream / review / vitamin a d & e & aloe vera / eczema

I received a full sized sample of this innovative cream to try

What the product claims

Creams&things moisturising cream is a secret to softer smoother skin. Use every day for deep dehydration of rough, dry or cracked skin.

Review

I received this during my pregnancy which was perfect timing because I suffer with cracked skin on my hands anyway, because of eczema, but its worse when I'm pregnant.

What I particularly liked about this cream is that the hydration lasted for a long time you don't have to keep applying it all day I just put it on in the morning and it lasts all throughout the day.

You only need to use a very small amount and it absorbs very quickly into the skin.

I also like the fact that it contains vitamins a,d and e which all help to protect and care for your skin.

It has a subtle not overpowering scent which is good for me because perfumed products make my eczema even worse.

So overall I would recommend this cream to anyone who has dry or cracked skin or even if you just need that little bit more hydration.

Please see the link at the top of the page for more information about this product.
