rawlicious food company / review / natural raw food / gluten wheat free

This company have sent me this generous collection of their products for me to trial.

Kale Chips

I was really impressed with these, I thought they were very flavourful and they feel like you are having a treat because they have a crunchy texture to them.

While I was pregnant I had an iron deficiency and I was told to eat lots of leafy vegetables which unfortunately I'm not a fan of so these came at the perfect time for me.

And an interesting fact that I didn't know, that is on their website, is that cooking destroys nutrition & enzymes and chemically changes foods from the substances needed for health into acid-forming toxins, free-radicals and poisons so another plus for eating raw when possible.

There are some great flavours in the range such as cheesy and also Thai chilli.

Raw crackers

These are perfect if you need something to replace bread as a dietary requirement for example if you need something gluten free.

You can eat them on their own or they can be eaten with a spread which is what I enjoyed doing.

I thought the flavours of these were very original such as tomato pizza which made an interesting change from the norm.

Date and cashew snackaroons

Now these I cannot rave about enough. These were a massive hit with my five year old, she thought they were wonderful and I have to say I agreed with her.

The date and cashew flavours go really well together and they are great for if you are looking for something to quash a sweet tooth craving without having biscuits or chocolate.

I also like the fact the ingredients are organic and even their packaging is recyclable.

b skincare / review / natural / face scrub / lip rescue

I received these two full sized samples to review from this company

What the company claims

"The creams are handmade each week, so you will not get something that has been sitting on a shelf for ages. Handmade means a real person measures, pours, lids and labels the creams."

Review

Face Scrub

Contains crushed walnut shells, citrus and evening primose.

I was very impressed at the fact that the scrub part of this product was natural walnut shells instead of the microbeads that are used sometimes, which are very harmful to the environment.

My skin is very sensitive on my face and so it tends to react to products like these and gets red and tingly very quickly but this product did not have any adverse effects for me and it left my skin feeling really refreshed.

The smell of evening primrose can sometimes be overpowering but in this case the citrus works really well with it to combat that.

Lip Rescue

The packaging of this product says first aid for sore lips and this is definitely true in this case.

It does not contain any chemicals so the scent is very light and natural.

It isn't sticky when it goes on so you aren't licking it off your lips for ages, it absorbs really well.

Please see the website above for other products in this range which even includes muscle and joint creams and arnica salve for bruises.

malki dead sea soap and bath salts / review / natural skin care / eczema acne

I received these 3 products from this company

Product claims

The sulphurous waters of the Dead Sea possess extraordinary qualities and rich health giving minerals; sulphur, iodine, magnesium, potassium, calcium, sodium that heal skin ailments like eczema and acne.

Review

Natural sulphur soap

The first soap was a natural sulphur soap and I was hoping that it did what it says as I have eczema on my hands so I have to be careful what I use but I was not disappointed.

The soap has a light, natural smell and is unperfumed which is great for me because it is the perfumes that aggravate my eczema.

I had no adverse reaction itchiness or redness.

Natural black mud mask soap

The second soap was called natural black mud mask soap and it was described as an old family recipe using olive, palm, coconut and vegetable oils.

I was looking forward to trying this because even though I don't have acne I do have very oily skin on my face and this soap really helped to regulate that without drying it out completely.

Again as with the first soap I had no adverse reaction itchiness or redness.

Aromatherapy bath salts with frankincense oil and rose petals.

And lastly I received aromatherapy bath salts with frankincense oil and rose petals.

These dissolved nicely in the bath to give a lovely calming aroma.

I tend not to use bath salts as I tend to find they are overperfumed which irritates my skin but this is not the case with this product.

I felt that the rose petals were a nice little added touch for a natural fragrance.

As with the soaps I had no adverse reaction itchiness or redness.

valley mill soaps / review / natural skin care

I was very pleased to receive a selection of soaps to review from this company

  What the company claims

Using only the finest natural oils to produce their range of luxury soap

No artificial colours, preservatives or additives. Paraben free. SLS free. No animal products. Very gentle.

Review

The first thing straight away that I love about these bars is that they are 100% natural.

My favourite bar was the orange and cinnamon and to give an example of how natural these bars really are the ingredients are limited to:
Olive, palm, castor and coconut oil, shea butter, orange, cinnamon and paprika.

The orange and cinnamon scents go really well together and the soaps are not perfumed and so do not aggravate my eczema.

Another point that impressed me is that to get the beautiful colours that they produce they use natural herbs.

I had no adverse reaction, itchiness or redness.

Please see the website above for more information and also on the website you can personalise your product and create great gifts for weddings etc.

I received two full sized samples of the soaps from a large range that this company offers

The products claims

Luxury, handmade artisan soap, traditionally crafted from natural plant oils and butters using the cold-process method. Rich in naturally occurring glycerine.

Review

First thoughts are the packaging of the products I received was beautiful and these would make ideal gifts. The soaps were also well protected in sheeting which I was impressed with.

The soaps are pretty to look at but are also very practical to use and last for ages.

I received strawberry crème and midnight mint and both had a very pleasant scent to them.

They were the perfect size to put on the basin to use for hand washing and they lathered up nicely each wash.

With regards to any negative reaction on my skin such as redness or itching, I had none whatsoever. I have to be very careful what I use to wash my hands because of eczema.

Please see the website above for more products in the range.

creams&things moisturising cream / review / vitamin a d & e & aloe vera / eczema

I received a full sized sample of this innovative cream to try

What the product claims

Creams&things moisturising cream is a secret to softer smoother skin. Use every day for deep dehydration of rough, dry or cracked skin.

Review

I received this during my pregnancy which was perfect timing because I suffer with cracked skin on my hands anyway, because of eczema, but its worse when I'm pregnant.

What I particularly liked about this cream is that the hydration lasted for a long time you don't have to keep applying it all day I just put it on in the morning and it lasts all throughout the day.

You only need to use a very small amount and it absorbs very quickly into the skin.

I also like the fact that it contains vitamins a,d and e which all help to protect and care for your skin.

It has a subtle not overpowering scent which is good for me because perfumed products make my eczema even worse.

So overall I would recommend this cream to anyone who has dry or cracked skin or even if you just need that little bit more hydration.

Please see the link at the top of the page for more information about this product.

motherlylove / product review / natural / pregnancy / massage oils

I have received these three products to try from this company. Straight away I was impressed with the packaging of these products.

Stretch mark massage oil

As I have already been pregnant several times before I do already have stretch marks but I did find that with this oil it did help to ease the itchiness that you get when your skin stretches so I would recommend this even if you already have stretch marks to limit the itchiness and keep your skin supple.

My skin is very sensitive as I have eczema so I have to be careful with oils like this that I don't have a reaction but I had no redness or any reaction to this product.

I also really liked the smell of this as the lime stood out and was very pleasant which was a big plus because stretch mark oils usually smell quite strong.

Due date pulse point oil

This was a product that I've not really used before but I thought it was actually quite nice and refreshing and I have used it even after being pregnant.

It has a dominant scent of grapefruit which is very pleasant and not overpowering.

Soothing massage oil for feet

I was very impressed with this oil as I have tried quite a few different oils for my feet and the biggest problem I had was that my feet felt very slippery afterwards. I didn't have that problem with this oil as it seemed a little bit thicker and also absorbed very well into the skin and was quick drying.

This also has a light refreshing scent, this time of peppermint.

So overall I was very impressed with each of these products and would recommend to anyone who is pregnant but also to use after pregnancy.

What I also like about these products is all the carrier oils (vegetable) and essential oils are chosen for their nearest to nature quality.

Please see the website above for similar products and there is also some great tips and advice on there too.
